The iris flower is named after the Greek goddess of the rainbow whom was the messager of the gods; counterpart of Hermes the god of travelers.

Iris is a flower of inner truth, creativity, protection and walking between worlds. They can also be seen onboard ther Temperance card in the Rider-Waite deck and are associated with the Wheel of Fortune.
